5 TOP THINGS ABOUT SANT FELIU’S “FESTA MAJOR”
In this post, we are going to talk about "Festa Major", which Sant Feliu celebrates from the 10th to the 13th October. Continue reading and you will discover the 5 top things!
Everything starts with the “Seguici”, which is the most popular event. It's like a ritual to start with. It starts at 8 p.m. and finishes at 12 p.m. at 8th of March Square. This year the location is new and this is the best place to see it with family and friends.
The “Castellers” are a group of people that are interested in this cultural activity. They rehearse to build a castle with people. We like it because they are all in a good mood and they make a huge effort. You shouldn’t be nervous because if the castle falls dawn, they know what they are doing and they try again. We recommend you see it and have a great time.
The “Gegants” (Giants) are mainly for kids because they love it and are amazed. We advise you that if you bother the “bandoler”, be careful because he can hit you with his big hands. If you have children, it’s a nice activity to do with them.
The “correfoc” (or run fire) is another important event on these days. It is typical in Catalonia and in Sant Feliu it is celebrated every year on Saturday evening. If you want yo get in and not get burnt, you have to wear jeans and cotton clothes and, of course, a hat. Don't miss it!
The funfair is held near the fire station. This place has a lot of different funny attractions, but you have to pay to enter. You can also buy a lot of different tasty food at the food trucks. The funfair is a good option to go with your family or your friends. The best views are at night with all the lights, but it’s also when the funfair is most crowded.
We hope you have enjoyed the post and the different activities we have talked about. Festa Major is great and we hope you made the most of it.
Goodbye, dear followers, and remember to talk about this blog to all of your friends.
